Ephesus Öküz Mehmed Pasha Caravanserai

Ephesus Öküz Mehmed Pasha Caravanserai

The Grand Kusadası Bazaar is also nearby. Officially the second-largest bazaar in the country, after Istanbul’s, it’s a must-visit for fans of shopping or those who want to experience some classic Turkish retail culture. Its countless stalls sell everything from leather goods and trinkets to rugs and (fake) designer label clothing—be prepared to haggle, but if you don’t feel like it, try the more ‘westernised’ shops around Kaleiçi (Old Town), which also hosts restaurants, cafes and bars so you can easily make a morning or afternoon of it.

But that’s not all. Kusadası also offers sandy beaches. The town’s most famous swimming spot is though these days it’s for everyone rather than only females. The city
also serves as a convenient gateway to local highlights such as Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary and the Dilek Peninsula National Park. It’s also possible to get to the Greek island of Samos from Kusadası via regular daily ferries.
