KABAK BAY

Another stunning destination close to Butterfly Valley, albeit with a very different atmosphere, is Kabak. It used to be something of a hidden secret amongst hiking hippies who came to explore the surrounding mountains and spend time on its sandy white beach but today it's more developed, with yoga retreats, bungalow retreats and camping areas, and a surprisingly active party scene in the shape of clubs and concerts hidden away in the valley’s pine-covered flanks.

It’s still less touristy than many other parts of the coast though and the beach usually has plenty of room for sunbathers and swimmers. It’s possible to hike here from Butterfly Valley along the Lycian Way (around three hours), as well as to Paradise Beach, an even more remote natural beach to the south, though boat trips are also possible for non-hikers.
